Why I became a Fitness Mentor to Baby Boomer Women

Here's why I became a Fitness by Phone Master trainer.
I've always been interested in health and fitness. My work in the construction, mining and oil industries made me strong, fit and healthy. About 12 years ago I took a desk job in my early 40s. Wow! What a difference. Suddenly I couldn't take fitness for granted any longer. I gained weight.
I discovered to lose the "love handles" I put on as a result of my more sedentary lifestyle, I had to make a concerted effort to go to the gym and work out, eat right and adopt a healthier regime. I gradually took the weight off and have stayed in great shape since. In the process I developed much greater empathy and understanding for people who struggle with their weight and fitness. That's why I love helping my clients through Fitness Mentoring on the phone or on the Internet.
Even today at age 55, I still lift weights and keep myself in shape. Despite all my niggling injuries including shoulder problems due to overuse in my previous heavy occupations. This is one reason why I wrote and published my book "Shoulder Pain Fixed." When I look in the mirror I like what I see (so does my wife, Laurena,).
Over the years I played sports, especially snow skiing, I worked out a bit, stretched a lot, had massages and ate good food. I've always kept up with the latest research, exercise trends and ways to rehabilitate injuries from overuse so many of us tend to get after the age of 40.
All that came crashing down in late November 2005 when I got a virus which attacked my heart. The upshot of it was a number of hospital stays. I credit my ongoing and abiding commitment to health and fitness with the reason why I feel so great again today.
I became a personal trainer and discovered women, especially Baby Boomer women over age 40, are highly-motivated to excel no matter how discouraged they may feel initially about their weight and declining fitness level. I also found training men was a waste of time. Something always "came up" to prevent us from meeting. About this time I started networking online and that's where I met my first four "champions."
See, online networking sites are filled with women who have health challenges. I'm curious, so I asked several women about it. They told me about their health issues and their desire to lose weight in great detail. They also told me about the things that bugged them and how frustrated they felt about losing the figure they had in their younger years. When I suggested I could help them out over the phone or the internet some of them actually were willing to take on Fitness Mentoring and we got started in earnest.
About three months after I first started training with them, I discovered The Association of Fitness by Phone Coaches in the USA. Here was a 10 year old success story that dove-tailed nicely with what I was trying to do with my online clients.
I researched and found Fitness by Phone has a complete results delivery system, guaranteed to work, so I didn't have to reinvent the wheel. I signed up to become a Master Trainer. Now I love the work I do helping Baby Boomer women willing to help themselves to become knowledgeable about their own health and well-being. At the same time they are gradually improving their fitness level and losing pounds and inches.
I am mentoring them to lose weight and get healthy again, with a focus on permanent weight loss.
My family has supported me throughout this transition to a new career and I am so thankful to them especially my wife of 28 years, Laurena. The boys too, are both young men now. Ryan and Rhys ages 26 and 23, both make me immensely proud.
Now, I'm so enthusiastic about sharing Fitness Mentoring with clients like yourself by phone or the internet - I'm looking forward to talking with you soon.
