How Can Fitness by Phone® Help Me Get My Figure Back?

We help you create exciting, fun and healthy new lifestyle habits through personal one-to-one contact weekly on the phone or on Skype.  Fitness Mentoring helps you eventually become self directed and skilled to take control of your own health and fitness naturally.  You get a new life and a new figure, which YOU direct and control. We do this by increasing the quantity of fat you burn each week using gradually more intense movement and exercise.  I know you're a Baby Boomer - not your daughter - so we take it gradually.  Slowly you discover how to reduce your unhealthy calorie intake with education, encouragement and support.

What's Unique About Fitness by Phone® that Makes it Really Work?

When you work with me through Fitness by Phone® you do something very different. You use two special monitors that provide you with feedback on a daily basis. The Caltrac measures fat calories burned both at rest (your basal metabolic rate) and when you move. It can be adjusted for when you do different types of exercise, too. You wear it on your hip like a beeper or pedometer. The Caltrac shows you in black and white how much more fat you burn every day through extra movement, and how much you don't burn if you are sedentary and not moving very much. 

The other tool we use is the Polar 200 Heart Rate Monitor. It's used track your heart rate and your aerobic fitness level as you exercise.  It's like a wristwatch  so it's easy to check as you exercise. This way you'll jump in and enjoy aerobic exercise with confidence and without fear of overdoing it.

What actually happens during the Fitness By Phone® program?
  • We ask you to go see your health professional and get clearance from him or her to start an exercise program. We do this with everyone. The first rule of a fitness professional is to do no injury to your client. We're very conservative initially, until we learn what you are really capable of achieving. 
  • Next, you fill out a health assessment. This will help us to discover any issues/injuries you may have or had in the past which will affect the way we design your program. 
  • You start the program (for three months or more) and we send you the Fitness By Phone® "Fast Start Kit" including your Caltrac and Polar 200 Heart Rate monitors. While you are waiting for the package to arrive we ask you to monitor your food for three days in a food diary. We also ask you to tape and record your body measurements. 
  • Once your package arrives in the mail we book in your first session by either phone or Skype on the Internet (usually Skype since its free worldwide). During this session we show you how to set up and use your Caltrac and Polar 200 Heart Rate Monitor.  
  • You'll receive a diary to track your progress.  Together we set up your fitness goals for the first week and you write them down in your diary. We also set up times for specific exercise (like walking) so you can start to burn extra calories from day one. We also show you how to use the body-fat calipers so you can get a good idea of your body fat percentage. This forms the baseline for any activity you're doing and is your springboard for your whole program. 
  • Once your first week of activity is recorded, the second weekly session is used to set new goals, talk over and review how week one went for you and make some dietary adjustments if necessary. 
  • As the weeks go by we gradually introduce the heart rate monitor and aerobic movement strategies, and then strength training is introduced as well.

If you don't get results in three months of working with me through Fitness by Phone®, and are honest about what you are doing, you get a full refund. In ten years no one has ever asked for their money back - that's how confident I am that this program works.

Part of the Fitness By Phone® starter kit is an exercise fan. Also, this FitnessbyPhone.com.au website  has a series of download videos available to our clients only showing you how to do resistance training safely and  effectively without expensive, bulky equipment. Once your initial program is set up, we direct you to the videos and teach you over the phone how to do the exercises correctly. 

Don't worry, the first ones are simple to learn, fun and easy to do - so you feel successful. 

Usually there are only three or four exercises to start with so you won't get confused or feel overworked.

Remember you do the work in your time, whenever and wherever it is convenient for you.
